This week Manuel is out of town for work and I am left here to single parent the girls. We've been doing fairly well throughout the day, but Catherine, at almost 2, is waking up consistently around 11 or 12 p.m. and staying up for 3 or 4 hours. With me. While we don't sleep. For three nights in a row now. I'm going nuts.
I can't figure out what is the reason for her awakening like this: daylight savings time? full moon? Manuel leaving for a week? God punishing me? Surely she doesn't need to nurse for four hours (as requested). My reasonable friends will tell you maybe her two year molars are giving her reason to awake. Maybe they are right. That might make more sense than looking out the window for a plague of locusts as part II of a divine punishment.
