Mapi and Catherine have, for...ever, shown great concern over being in the same physical space as dogs and/or cats (and, in some cases, other domestic animals). This past weekend Mapi was intrigued enough by a sweet new puppy her cousins brought to Abuela's house that she ACTUALLY ASKED TO HOLD HER after a few hours of careful observation!
Catherine, on the other hand, was not convinced it was safe yet to come out and play. She made it onto the patio IF there was an adult there with her (preferably holding her!). Towards the end of the afternoon she let me sit on a chair in the patio and when Annie puppy came to put her front paws on the chair, Catherine actually touched them. This was a REALLY sweet dog!
I didn't get a picture of Catherine outside with me and the dog, but here are Catherine and I inside. That morning I figured out how cute Catherine's hair would be in twin ponytails *heart heart heart* Boy will I miss that when I finally get around to cutting her hair this summer!
Not loads went on this week, other than Manuel graciously took off work today to spend time with us (and let me go get my hair cut- yay!). I am starting a new (gardening) blog, with support from some other local gardening mamas.

Note: a week later, Catherine and Mapi went to their cousins' house and Mapi again held the dog. Catherine warmed up to her as well, and followed her around trying to force-feed her table food.
